Sharul Nakhoda is the Clinical Psychologist and the Researcher at the Behavior Intervention Centre for Children (BICC). Her clinical and research work are assessing, diagnosing and providing speech-language treatment for children with Developmental Speech-Language Disorders. These disorders include Global Developmental Delay (315.8 DSM-5), Language Disorder (315.32 DSM-5), Speech Sound Disorder (315.39 DSM-5), Social (Pragmatic Communication Disorder (315.39 DSM-5) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (299.00 DSM-5).
In research work, she has been and continues to research in the area of Developmental Speech Language Disorders. Sharul Nakhoda assesses and diagnoses children using standardized multi-method battery of tests for assessment of IQ, cognition, speech-language and general development. In addition, she manages speech therapy session on children, including direct observation of the child at BICC and at school settings, consulting parents, providing psycho-educational profile of the child and speech-language profile and behavior assessment of the child.
She earned her Master's degree in Psychology from National University of Singapore and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Acadia University, Canada. She published three of her research papers on ASD, at the Department of Psychology, NUS. She is the Managing Director at the BICC Pte Ltd Reg No: 5304106J.
Her memberships are Association for Behavior Analysis International #44665, American Psychological Association #4902, Canadian Psychological Association #12900 and American Speech-Language -Hearing Association #14228550.
